Question 762660: If I need to find the pro numeral of something with a polygon, how would i solve it with algebra?
The problem that I have tried to solve so far is:
360 = 58 + 147 + 2r + 3r
360 = 205 + 2r + 3r
How do i know what r is and what does the 2 and 3 represent?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
From what you have stated I am guessing that you were given a 4 sided polygon with interior angles of 58, 147, 2R & 3R.
-------------------------
If that is the case, then the 2 & 3 are just multipliers. To make the angle larger.
You were on the right track to find the value of R but you need to do a few more steps.
360+=+58+%2B+147+%2B+2R+%2B+3R
Combine like terms.
360+=+205+%2B+5R
Subtract 205 from both sides.
155+=+5R
Divide both sides by 5.
highlight%2831+=+R%29.
-------------------------
Since you know the value of R, you can go back and check the problem.
360+=+58+%2B+147+%2B+2R+%2B+3R
360+=+58+%2B+147+%2B+2%2A%2831%29+%2B+3%2A%2831%29
360+=+58+%2B+147+%2B+62+%2B+93
360+=+360
