You can solve this two ways.
Permutations is when order does matter.
So you have a block size of 30 and 3 groups. You ONLY want three NOT 30 so it will be 30*29*28 = 24,360.
OR
If you have a graphing calculator, you click MATH, move to the category that says PROB stands for probability. Then click on nPr which stands for permutation. n stands for how many blocks you have in this case and r stands for how many groups you only want. It would look like 30P3 = 24,360.
