Question 943195: Two playing cards are dealt to you from a well-shuffled standard deck of 52 cards. If either card is a diamond or if both are diamonds, you win; otherwise, you lose. Determine whether this game favors you, is fair, or favor the dealer. Explain your answer.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You lose and the dealer wins if you get 2 non-diamonds

There are 13 diamonds and 39 non-diamonds

P(2 non-diamonds) = 39C2%2F%2852C2%29 = 741%2F1326 = 19%2F34

So the game favors the dealer since 19%2F34 > 1%2F2.
