12! for the books,

52! for the cards

It would take over 15 years to rearrange the books that many times, IF you never stopped to sleep, eat, use the bathroom, or anything else.

As for the cards, if you had started at the instant of the Big Bang, you would not have even made a dent in the permutations. You would only have managed to create of them, or about percent of the whole job.
