If you want just combinations:
There are 5 1 letter words
2 letters --> 5*4 = 20
3 letters --> 5*4*3 = 60
4 letters --> 5*4*3*2 = 120
5 letters --> 120
= 120 + 120 + 60 + 20 + 5
= 325
