Question 418042: I keep on finding difficulty in Combinations and Premutations. Here is one question, "In how many ways can 9 people be lined up if 2 of them insist they must stand next to each other?" Answer by richard1234(7193) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Suppose we count these two people as a person. Then we have eight "people" to put into a line, hence 8! ways. For any such permutation, we can order the two people 2! or 2 different ways. The total number of ways is 2*8! = 80640.
