3X4=12, 12X3=36, 36X9=324, 324X1=324
Or you could branch it out. I would start with one long branch, that would have nine branches off it, then four branches off each of the previous nine, then three of those four, and then three off those three.

no. of ways he can select a shirt= 4
similarly, he can select jacket by 3 ways, tie by 9 ways and shoe by 1 way.
no. of ways to select different outfits = 3*4*3*9*1 = 324

total 324 ways
