The three cars hold a total of 11 people; since there are 10 people, there will be one empty seat in one of the three cars. There are 3 possibilities:
1, 4, 5
2, 3, 5
2, 4, 4

If you wanted a solution with distinguishable people, instead of just numbers of people in each car, re-post the question saying so. That is a far more complicated problem....
