it means that the order does nor matter in this problem;  hence, the problem is about COMBINATIONS and not about permutations.


3 faculty members from 11 faculty members can be selected by  C%5B11%5D%5E3 = %2811%2A10%2A9%29%2F%281%2A2%2A3%29 = 165 ways.


5 students from 13 students can be selected by  C%5B13%5D%5E5 = %2813%2A12%2A11%2A10%2A9%29%2F%281%2A2%2A3%2A4%2A5%29 = 1287 ways.



Since these selections among faculty members and students are independent, the total number of ways is the product


    C%5B11%5D%5E3.C%5B13%5D%5E5 = 165*1287 = 212355.     ANSWER
