.
(a) wPw-2 is the standard designation for the number of PERMUTATIONS.

The only way to interpret wPw-2, which I know, is wP(w-2), which is

         wP(w-2) = w*(w-1)*(w-2)* . . . *3 (in all, there are (w-2) factors in the product).

To calculate it, the value of w must be given.

     For example, at w= 5 wP(w-2) is 5P3 = 5*4*3 = 60.

(b) wCw-2 is the standard designation for the number of COMBINATIONS.

The only way to interpret wCw-2, which I know, is wC(w-2), which is

         wP(w-2) = w%21%2F%28%28w-2%29%21%2A2%21%29

To calculate it, the value of w must be given.

     For example, at w= 5, wC(w-2) is 5%21%2F%283%21%2A2%21%29 = %285%2A4%29%2F%281%2A2%29 = 20%2F2 = 10.

Generally speaking,  it is very strict and unexpected move from your side  (if to use the  "chess"  language) -
- to come to the forum and to ask about something, you don't know about what.

It is not the way and not the level to discuss something  "on substance".
