So a straight flush is 5 consecutive cards of the same suit.
For each suit you can have a flush that starts with an Ace through the 10.
So that's 10 for each suit and there are 4 suits, so
N=40
The Royal Flush is also a straight flush but is usually separate so you would typically subtract 4 (1 for each suit).
So the answer is either 36 or 40, as explained.
