You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = regular price of one item
y = discounted price of one item
---
3y = 2x
y = (2/3)x
---
implied discount:
x - y
x - (2/3)x
(3/3)x - (2/3)x
(1/3)x
0.333333x
---
answer:
33% off regular price

---
Let the price of 2 be $2
Then the price per unit is $1
------
If you get 3 for $2 the new unit price is $2/3 = 66 2/3 cents
-----
Quantity discount:: $1 - 66 2/3 cents = 33 1/3 cents per unit
Percent discount:: (33 1/3)/1 = 33 1/3%
