You can put this solution on YOUR website! let x be the number of people at the fair, then
2x/3 is the number of people at the fair who wore hats
(1/6) * (2x/3) = x/9 are men who wore hats
(5/6) * (2x/3) = 5x/9 are women who wore hats
x/9 + 124 = 5x/9
4x/9 = 124
4x = 9 * 124 = 1116
x = 279
(2/3) * 279 = 186
279 - 186 = 93
therefore
93 people did not wear hats
279 people were at the fair
