You can put this solution on YOUR website! x is numerator
y is denominator
...
y = 2x + 1
...
Cross Multiply
x(x+4) = y(y-4)
...
... ==> substitution
...
(3x+1)(x-3)=0
3x+1=0
3x=-1
x =
x-3=0
x = 3
...
Using x =
y =
Original fraction which is
...
Using x = 3
y = 2x + 1 = 2(3) + 1 = 6 +1 = 7
Original fraction

Testing both originals

Checking which is -1
it works! and are reciprocals

-----------
OF = x/(2x + 1)
(x+4)/(2x-3) = 1/OF = (2x+1)/x
(x+4)/(2x-3) = (2x+1)/x
Cross multiply
x(x+4) = (2x-3)*2x+1)
(3x + 1)*(x - 3) = 0
x = 3 --> OF = 3/7
------
x = -1/3 --> OF = -1
