You can put this solution on YOUR website!
THE SIMPLE WAY
The problem did not give any numbers for A and B because it does not matter what they are. The answer would be the same for any B, as long as "20% of A is the 30% of B."
So we set up a convenient B.
If B was 100, 30% of B would be 30, and that would be 20% (or 1/5) of A.
So A would be 5 times 30, or 150, which is 150% of the 100 that we assumed B to be.
THE ALGEBRA WAY
20% of A is 0.20%2AA
30% of B is 0.30%2AB
We know that 0.20%2AA=0.30%2AB
What percent of B is A? Let's find out what fraction of B is A
0.20%2AA=0.30%2AB --> 0.20%2AA%2F0.20=0.30%2AB%2F0.20 --> A=%280.30%2F0.20%29%2AB --> A=1.5%2AB --> A%2FB=1.5%2AB%2FB --> A%2FB=1.5 --> A%2FB=150%2F100
So A is 150% of B.
