Percentage problems can usually be set up as a proportion. A proportion is two equal ratios
part%2Fwhole=percent%2F100
so set the problem up, the part is 50, the whole is 200:
50%2F200=x%2F100
cross-multiply:
50%2A100+=+200x
5000+=+200x
divide by 200:
5000%2F200=200x%2F200
25=x so the answer is 25%
