The ratio of foxes to rabbits in the Deerfield Forest Preserve is 2 to 9. If there are 35 fewer foxes than rabbits, then how many of each are there?

2 to 9 is the same as 2x to 9x where 2x is the # of foxes.

Equation:
2x = 9x-35
-7x = -35
x = 5
--------------
2x = 10 (# of foxes)
9x = 45 (# of rabbits)
