You can put this solution on YOUR website! you have a wife, 3 children, and 2 grandchildren.
each child will receive 3 times as much as each grandchild.
the wife will receive 4 times as much as each child.
total estate value is 1115,000.
let x = the amount each grand child will get.
then 3x = the amount each child will get.
then 4 * 3x = 12x = the amount the wife will get.
total amount to be shared is 2 * x + 3 * 3x + 1 * 12x = 2x + 9x + 12x = 23x.
you get 23x = 1115000.
solve for x to get x = 1115000 / 23 = 48478.26087 rounded to the number of decimal places that can be displayed in my calculator.
the internally stored number is more detailed.
each grandchild receives 48478.26087.
each child receives 3 times 48478.26087 = 145434.7826.
the wife receives 4 times 145434.7826 = 581739.1304.
total amount received is 2 * what each grandchild receives plus 3 times what each child receives plus what the wife receives = 1115000.
i know what each person gets doesn't come out even, but that's what i get if i read the problem correctly.
