Question 1001816: Can you please help me with a percentages question? A group of 4 people make toys. The group has made 10 toys total. On 10 of the toys 2 people have solely contributed, on 8 of the toys, 3 people contributed & on 2 of the toys all 4 people contributed. What is the percentage of contribution each person should be credited with? I started by making a pie with 10 slices, 2 slices {20%} belong to A&B, solely. 8 slices should be divided into 1/3 for A,B & C and then 2 of those slices also need to be divided into 1/4's for A,B,C & D - and that's where I got lost- is this even a good way for me to try solve it? Thx!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Since the designation of the people and the toys is arbitrary, you can lay it out thusly without loss of generality:

A contributed to Toy #1 through Toy #10

B contributed to Toy #1 through Toy #10

C contributed to Toy #3 through Toy #10 (total of 8 toys)

D contributed to Toy #9 through Toy #10 (total of 2 toys)

So I count a total of 30 participation shares, 10 for A, 10 for B, 8 for C, and 2 for D.

Hence the percentages are each for A and B, for C and for D.
