I think you meant to say "triangle" instead of "trapezoid"

If x is the length of each congruent leg, then we can use the Pythagorean Theorem to state:
x%5E2%2Bx%5E2+=+7%5E2

Maybe "triangle" instead of "trapezoid".

EAch of the equal length legs is d, and hypotenuse is 7.
d%5E2%2Bd%5E2=7%5E2
2d%5E2=7%5E2
d%5E2=7%5E2%2F2
d=7%2Fsqrt%282%29 and you can rationalize denominator if you need.
