multiply the equation by (y+1)
(y+1)*y - (y+1)*y%2F%28y%2B1%29%29 = (y+1)*1%2F%28y%2B1%29
Cancel the denominators
y(y+1) - y = 1
y^2 + y - y = 1
y^2 = 1
y = sqrt%281%29
y = +/- 1
however
y = +1 is the only solution (-1 give division by 0)
