Question 9421: Hi-
I have a second question that I'm having trouble understanding. If you could please let me know what I'm doing wrong I would appreciate it.
Problem:
- 5/8 - (-11/12)
I found the lcd which is 24 so I made the problem:
-15/24 - (-22/24) = - 37/24
The book says the answer should be 7/24
Why is that if your subtracting 2 negatives.
Please let me know.

Just to finish up your problem here, remember that the negative of a negative is a positive:

-15/24 - (-22/24)
-15/24 + 22/24
7/24
