The easiest way is to find a common denominator. All of the denominators (10,5,4) go into 20. Let's convert everything to 20ths.
3%2F10=6%2F20
2%2F5=8%2F20
1%2F4=5%2F20
Now the equation becomes
6%2F20+8%2F20-5%2F20
14%2F20-5%2F20=9%2F20
