Question 894778: Need help quick first and last question of the day. Greatly appreciated:)
For the following relation to be a function, what can x NOT equal? Explain.
{(8,1),(34,5),(6,17),(x,2),(7,4)}
Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! x must not be any of 6, 7, 8, 34.
Just to be clear, the output value can be repeated, but any input value can only occur ONCE. If any input value occurs more than one time, then the relation is NOT a function.
