Assume the problem is:
42%2F%281%2F6%29 - 27%2F%283%2F5%29
One way is divide the fractions first.
When dividing invert the dividing fraction and multiply
42*(6/1) = 252
and
27 * (5/3) = 135/3 = 45
now you have
252 - 45 = 297
