Subtract 1 from each side
4x%2B1-1=2x%2B5-1
Simplify
4x=2x%2B4
Subtract 2x from each side.
4x-2x=2x%2B4-2x
Simplify
2x=4
Divide both sides by 2
2x%2F2=4%2F2

x=2
