You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2/3 + 5/9
For best accuracy, add the two fractions first, the common denominator is 9
6/9 + 5/9 = 11/9
:
divide the numerator by the denominator, results: 1.2222.(a repeating decimal)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2/3 + 5/9 is the expression you want to solve.
you can convert them one at a time or you can convert them together.
assuming you want to convert them together, you need to combine them into one fraction with a common denominator.
2/3 is the same as 6/9 (multiply numerator and denominator by 3)
add 6/9 and 5/9 together to get 11/9.
if you use your calculator, you'll get 1.22222......
this looks like a never ending repeating decimal which means the 2222222..... goes on forever.
while the calculator does this automatically, by hand you would divide 11 by 9 and keep going on forever until you get tired or determine that the accuracy i good enough.
if you want to convert them separately, you do the same process.
2/3 becomes .666666666....... endlessly.
5/9 becomes .5555555555..... endlessly.
add these 2 together, you get:
1.222222222..........endlessly.
converting from decimals to fractions is a whole different process.
