 Starting at 1 and going 9 units to thehighlight%28left%29, one is on  highlight%28-8%29       

number_line%28+600%2C+-10%2C+10%2C++1%2C-8+%29

Likewise: x+-+9x+=+highlight%28-8x%29 when collecting Like Terms
