the common denominator of 3%2F2 and 4%2F7 is 14
so
3%2F2=21%2F14and 4%2F7=8%2F14
now we have
2%2F3w=21%2F14-8%2F14=13%2F14
that's
2%2F3w=13%2F14
Multiply each side of the equation by3%2F2
2%2F3w x3%2F2= 6%2F6w = 1w or just w
and
13%2F14x3%2F2=39%2F28
SO
w=39%2F28 or 111%2F28
We can check our answer by substituting 39%2F28 in the problem
