You can put this solution on YOUR website! Convert the mixed number into an improper fraction (e.g. 4 1/3 = 13/3). Before you add, make sure the fractions have the same denominator. If so, simply add (or subtract). If not, find the LCM and rewrite the fractions as necessary, then add or subtract.
