I don't understand multiplying mixed numbers. Could you give me an example to show me how it is done?
-----------
(2 1/3)(3 2/5)
----
Change each factor to an improper fraction (one where the numerator
is greater than the denominator).
---
= [(3*2+1)/3]
---
Simplify:
---
[7/3]
---
Multiply the numerators
Multiply the denominators
---
84/15
---
Reduce the fraction, dividing numerator and denominator by 3 to get:
= 28/5
-----
Convert back to a mixed number if you wish.
= 5 3/5
