You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Multiply by powers of 10 as required then simplify.
Example,
0.125=0.125%281000%29%2F%281000%29=125%2F1000=25%2F200=5%2F40=1%2F8

For repeating decimal, use a little more complicated procedure.
0.11111 repeating
Let x=0.11111 repeating, then 10x=1.11111 repeating
Subtract,
10x-x=1.11111-0.11111=1
9x=1
x=1%2F9=0.11111 repeating

Hello,
Let's take an example. It might show you easier.
Example:
.23
How do you say this?
23 hundredths
Right? The "hundredths" gives you a clue how to write the fraction;
23/100
Try another one.
.7819
This is said as, 7,819 ten thousandths so the fraction is:
7819/10,000
Got it?

Hi,
*Note: When converting: Decimal fractions always have a denominator based on a power of 10( for ex;10, 100, 1000,etc) prior to reducing.
.
Converting decimals into a fractions
.
A few examples
0.1 is 1/10
0.2 is 2/10 or 1/5 when reduced
0.5 is 5/10 or 1/2 when reduced
0.25 is 25/100 or 1/4 when reduced
0.50 is 50/100 or 1/2 when reduced
0.75 is 25/100 or 3/4 when reduced
.
All convert in the same fashion:
0.33 is 33/100
0.575 = 575/1000 or 23/40 when reduced
