Just add the fractions just like adding regular fractions.
[(x + 3)/x^2] - 16 + [(2x - 1)/(x + 3)(x - 4)] =
HINT: The LCD = x^2 *(x + 3)(x - 4)
Now multiply each term by the LCD to remove the fractions.
NOTE: -16 is actually a fraction in the form -16/1.
