1/2*6=(1*6)/2=6/2=3
6*3/4=(6*3)/4=18/4=4.5
11*8/44=11/44*8=1/4*8=8/4=2

It might help if you were to make the whole number look like a fraction.
You can do this by simply putting the whole number over 1.
Example:
Multiply %285%2F7%29%2A%283%29 ---> %285%2F7%29%2A%283%2F1%29+=+15%2F7 = 21%2F7
