6/2=15/x
there are several ways to figure this
3=15/x
3x=15
x=5
or
6/2=15/x
multiply both sides by x and both sides by 2
6x=15*2
6x=30
x=5

A way to solve these problems is to remember the following line:
"this times this divided by that."
So...
6%2F2=15%2Fx
"This times this" are the two known numbers diagonal from each other:
2%2A15+=+30
"..divided by that" is the number that is diagonal from the x:
30%2F6+=+5+
Check to see if it works:
6%2F2=3 and 15%2F5=3 yes!
