You can put this solution on YOUR website! The reciprocal of a fraction is an inverted fraction... or a fraction that is turned upside down. To find the reciprocal of a Mixed fraction, you really need to convert it into just a fraction. So you have 10 & 1/2. To change the 10 into a fraction that can be combined with the 1/2, you have to have the same denominator (bottom number). Since the bottom # is 2, we need to get 10 into a fration that has 2 for a denominator. We know that any number over itself equals 1. So 2/2 =1 but we need 10 of those. So how many 2 would we need on top to equal 10? 2 times 10 = 20, so you would have 20/2, which equals 10. Now we can add the numerators, since the denominators are the same. 20 + 1 = 21. So you have 21/2. The reciprocal of that fraction is 2/21.
