You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you have a mixed number like 3 2/5
you can convert it to an improper fraction:
3 2/5 = (5*3+2)/5 = 17/5
----------------------------------------------
An improper fraction is any fraction that has
a greater numerator than a denominator, such as
10/3 or 8/3
----------------
A Proper fraction is any fraction that has
a greater denominator than a numerator, such as
2/3, or 5/7
========================
Improper fractions cannot be changed to proper fractions,
but they can be changed to mixed numbers.

An improper fraction is a fraction where the numerator is the same or bigger than the denominator.
I am not aware of a way to convert from improper to proper. We can convert improper fractions to mixed numbers. The way we convert to a mixed is with division and use remainder numbers.
EX:
5/5 = 1 r 0 = 1
13/7 = 1 r 5 = 1 and 5/7
23/12 = 1 r 11 = 1 and 11/12
