We have two options here - either find a common denominator and try to combine all of the left hand side fractions, or multiply both sides of the equation by the common denominator to get rid of all the fractions. I think the second option is better. So the three denominators we are dealing with here are 3, 2 and x. Thus, the common denominator is them all multiplied together, 6x. So we want to multiply both sides of the equation by 6x.
You can put this solution on YOUR website! if 1/3+1/2+1/x=4, then x=
1/3 + 1/2 + 1/x = 4
2/6 + 3/6 + 1/x = 4
5/6 + 1/x = 24/6
1/x = 19/6
6=19x
6/19 = x
