Here is our fraction
1 2/3 + 2 1/2
step 1: turn both mixed to improper. LIke this
5/3 + 5/2.
step 2: multiply by the flip of the second fraction.
5/3 x 2/5
We see that 10 / 15 = 2/3, not 2.
