(x+50)+x = 500p Simplify.
2x+50 = 500 Subtract 50 from both sides.
2x = 450 Finally, divide both sides by 2.
x = 225p.
Kevin has 2 pounds, 25p.
Kirsty has 2 pounds, 75p.
