divide the number in the denominator you are coverting to which is 16 in problem 1), by the number in the denominator you are converting from which is 4 in the first problem. Take that answer which is 4(16/4) and multiply it by the numerator of the number you are converting from which is 3. So 3(4)=12. Now place that value over the denominator of the number your coverting to which is 16. Final answer 12/16
