Question 176442: Hello,
I was looking over your site and I wanted to clarify something that I was reading. To divide fractions you multiply the first numerator by the second denominator and the reverse for the other side. or briefly stated flip the second fraction and just multiply straight across. On the website the instructions say the above but the example shows multiplication of fractions example, correct?
Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let's say that you want to divide the fraction 1%2F2 by the fraction 2%2F3

This would look like

%281%2F2%29%2F%282%2F3%29

To divide, simply multiply the first fraction 1%2F2 by the reciprocal of the second fraction 2%2F3. In other words, flip the second fraction 2%2F3 to get 3%2F2 and multiply like this:

%281%2F2%29%283%2F2%29

From there, you multiply and simplify.
