Good question. "5 divided by one fourth" can be written in mathematical terms as 5/(1/4). You can also think of this as 5/0.25, but a better way to approach the problem is to leave it as it is, and work on from there.
So, we've got 5/(1/4), now, in maths this can be rewritten as 5*(4/1). Basically all you do is switch the (1/4) arround to get (4/1), and multiply that by 5. Therefore, the answer we get is 20, because we multiply 5*4. Pretty cool, eh?
