5/6 is a proper fraction because the denominator is larger than
the numerator.

6/5 is an improper fraction and is equal to the mixed number 1 1/5.

May I recommend you take a math placement test at the school you
are interested in attending. That will result in some recommendation
as to where you should start your math training. This site can help
you with math problems but cannot really teach you math.
