Solved by pluggable solver: Fractions Solver

2%2F15%2B9%2F20 Start with the given expression

In order to add these two fractions, these fractions need to have a common denominator.

In order to do that, we simply find that the LCM of 15 and 20 is 60 (note: if you need help with finding the LCM, check out this solver)

Now we need to get each denominator to 60

%284%2F4%29%282%2F15%29%2B9%2F20 Multiply 2%2F15 by %284%2F4%29

8%2F60%2B9%2F20 Multiply 2%2F15 and %284%2F4%29 to get 8%2F60

8%2F60%2B%283%2F3%29%289%2F20%29 Multiply 9%2F20 by %283%2F3%29

8%2F60%2B27%2F60 Multiply 9%2F20 and %283%2F3%29 to get 27%2F60

Since both fractions have a common denominator of 60, we can now combine the fractions

%288%2B27%29%2F60 Combine the fractions

35%2F60 Add the numerators

So

2%2F15%2B9%2F20=35%2F60

If want to reduce the fraction, 35%2F60 reduces to 7%2F12 (note: click here if you need help with reducing fractions)

2/15+9/20
First we need to find the LCD.
15=3*5
20=4*5 therefore we have 3*4*5=60 for the LCD
(2*4+9*3)/60=(8+27)/60=35/60=7/12 answer.
