My point is that there are NO benefits of the use of non-standard units of measurement, and that it is always BAD.
But as soon as I say it, somebody will come immediately to disprove my statement.
What is interesting, as a rule, for the opponent it is not the goal to get a truth.
He is mostly interested to demonstrate himself and to dominate . . .
So, in "democracy", it is useless to discuss it.

Simply, at each measurement scale, its own standard and natural measurement unit should be: meter, kilometer, millimeter and so on . . .
But not a foot, yard, inch and so on . . .

In more serious terms, using non-standard units contradicts to the idea and the goal of measurements itself.
The idea and the goal of measurements is to compare different objects, items and so on.
Making it in standard units is good idea and is an action "along the purposes".
Making it in non-standard units is an action "across the purposes".
Otherwise, a society needs to have a "Department of Units exchange" and/or special technologies for it.

Recall that the first "universal" system of weights and lengths was established in France at the time of dictatorship of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Surely, prominent scientists were behind this decision, but it only was possible to implement it under the dictatorship regime.
Then during the epoch of Napoleon's wars in Europe the system was expanded to many other European counties.
In Russia, this system was established for the first time in 1917-18 years after Bolshevik's revolution, i.e. also
under a dictatorship regime.
For England, it took many centuries to pass from their archaic measurement system to the modern International System of units.
It became possible only under the outer pressure due to entering to the European Union . . .
In the United States, with their semi-isolationist position, nobody knows when they finish to use their pounds, feet, gallons, ounces etc. . . .
