You can put this solution on YOUR website!
%281%2F500%29%2F%281%2F1000%29
if we multiply the numerator and denominator by 1000,
that is 1000%2F1000 which is just multiplying by 1 we get
%281000%2F1000%29%28%281%2F500%29%2F%281%2F1000%29%29
we get
2%2F1
so 2:1 is correct
another way to solve,
start with %281%2F500%29%2F%281%2F1000%29 and notice that 1/500 = 2/1000
%282%2F1000%29%2F%281%2F1000%29, we can see 2/1000 is twice as big as 1/1000
