You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You have to calculate successive differences for the y values. If you
get a constant value on the 1st set of differences the function is
linear. If you do not get a constant on the 1st set of differences
calculate the successive differences on the new set of difference
values. If this set is constant the function is quadatic.If you have
to calculate the differences a third time to get a set of constants,
the fUncion is cubic. etc.
