Needing guidance and help with how to set up this problem and how to get the answer
1/5x + 1/10y = 2/5.
The directions say to graph the linear equations using intercepts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, smanfree!
It is very simple.

1)  Rewrite your equation as   1/10y = -1/5x + 2/5.

2)  Multiply both sides by  10  to eliminate denominators:   y = -2x + 4.

3)  To get the intercept value in  "y"  axis,  substitute  x = 0  into the last equation.
      You will get  y = 4.
Hence,  the point A = (0, 4)  lies in your straight line  (see  Figure 1).

4)  To get the intercept value in  "x"  axis,  substitute  y = 0  into the last equation.
      You will get  -2x + 4 = 0.  It gives you will  x = 2.
Hence,  the point  B = (2, 0)  lies in your straight line  (see  Figure 1).

5)  Now draw the straight line through the points A and B  (Figure 1).

    Figure 1.  Plot  y = -2x+%2B+4%29

It is what you need.

Good luck.
