Question 742805: How to solve a linear equation for x when 3x^2 - 2x + 4 = 18 - 3x
I only get to this part which I'm guessing is wrong.
3x^2 + x = 14
See, I'm stuck. I thought all x's on one side and numbers on the other, but the answer says it's -1/3. ? Please help. The instructor only writes the couple of book examples on the board, and is no help when trying to ask a question. No clue why some people are teachers.

Question 743006: Hi! I have a question that asks me to find the equation of a line with gradients and intercepts on the y axis. I am given points such as -2/7, 6/7. With those two points I understand the answer is 7y+6-2x. But I can't get my head round the answer to this one following (and my exams are sooo soon!): Can you help me to understand -4/5, 2 and why this gives the answer 5y+4x=10?
